Summary

I am a full-time student at San Diego State University working towards a Master of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology. I am also pursuing a certificate in Bilingual Speech-Language Pathology and am a fluent speaker of Spanish. Upon graduation in May 2010, I hope to do my clinical fellowship year in a hospital in the San Diego area.

Experience

Speech Language Pathologist Intern at UCSD Medical Center – Hillcrest
January 2010 – Present
Assist in providing inpatient and outpatient services, including speech, language, cognitive, voice and swallowing evaluation and treatment at a Level I Trauma Center. Experience with videofluoroscopy, FEES, and tracheostomy/ventilator dependent patients.

Speech Language Pathologist Intern at Sweetwater Union High School District
September 2009 – December 2009
Provided speech and language services, collaborating with other school personnel, including psychologists and occupational therapists. As a member of the Bilingual Assessment Team, conducted speech and language assessments in Spanish for linguistically and culturally diverse students throughout the school district.

Assessed and provided treatment to pediatric and adult clients, collaborated with other clinicians in group treatment for traumatic brain injury, and provided treatment to clients with aphasia, apraxia of speech, dysarthria, profound hearing loss, disfluency, and autism spectrum disorders.
